Changing Times

Hello, it's me.

It has been a little over a year since the last post.

In that post, I brought up how I was struggling with severe burnout after the release of my first game, and how it forced me to come to terms with certain things about myself.
After I made that post, I have spent a lot of time working on an unannounced new game project. I hope to be able to share more about that in the near future, hopefully by the end of this year, but I have some other things I can share right now.

The first thing I want to share is the series of scambaiting videos I made last year:
Check out the full playlist if you like these two videos!
I hope to make more videos like that in the future, and I'm glad I started making them. It feels good to do something creative that isn't the stuff I usually do, and I also got a lot of positive reactions from friends and acquaintances who said they liked my voice... which helped alleviate some of my dysphoria at the time. I appreciate that a lot.
Also, part of why I made these videos is because I wanted to educate people about the tricks scammers use to get their hooks in a victim. I know people who fell for scams, a close friend of mine lost several thousand dollars to a scam in the past, and I believe the only real way we can fight these scams is to educate more people about them. The social media platforms are full of scammers, Discord is full of scammers, and the companies running those platforms are at best negligent and at worst actively enable the scammers. I think education is the answer and I wanted to put my money where my mouth is, and do my part.

The second thing is that I want to start posting on this blog more frequently. I've been having a lot of thoughts about stuff recently, and I feel like I don't really have an outlet for them. I hope to start posting on this blog at least several times a month.
It's easier to get my thoughts across when I don't have to worry about a character limit, or about the algorithm or any of that stuff, and I think that the way the big social media platforms are set up makes it harder for people to communicate with each other. I think people should get off of those platforms and create a more decentralised internet, and I want to put my money where my mouth is.

That's all for now, and if you made it this far, I hope life treats you well!

Signing out,
-Jules
